Why boost my online presence?

A recent article by Inc Magazine quoted a study that found more than half of all small businesses do not have a website. That means that most local businesses have little to no online presence when a prospective customer searches for goods or services near him/her.

customer acquisition

Today, most customers find a new place to buy a product or service by searching online. Generally, it can be as quick as a Google search on their smartphone. If your business doesn't appear in the top 5 results, they will more than likely pass you over for a competitor who has taken the time to build an online presence.

customer service

In today's age of relationship marketing, customer service is more important than ever. How difficult is it for your customers to reach you? Can they simply search for you and find a phone number or email address? Can they send you a message or comment on your Facebook profile? These are all extremely important questions. If your customers feel like they can easily talk to you without needing to drive to your physical location, they are more likely to be repeat customers.

Competition

If your competitors maintain a professional-looking website and social media profile, why would a prospective customer choose you over them? Word-of-mouth is still a powerful force in marketing, but today's word-of-mouth comes in the form of links, online reviews, check-ins, and status updates. Don't be left behind by your competitors. Be the company to beat.
